Centenary

Get involved and help us celebrate our centenary on September 29th 2010. We will holding a number of events over the year looking back at 100 years of Pontypridd Y.M.C.A. but also looking forward to our second centenary. Throughout 2010 we will have a wide variety of events celebrating the fantastic achievements of people who have used the Y.M.C.A. over the years. Come along and find out what your family and friends were doing all those years ago at the Y.M.C.A. Events so far:

February 2010 Launch of the Centenary Art Exhibition. Schools around Pontypridd have been working hard to create pieces of art based on the history of the Y.M.C.A. << See the finished pieces here >>

5th March 2010 International Women's Day. We celebrated this with a Community Arts event of performance dance, taster sessions, stalls and cakes. << See some pictures of this event here >>

June 11th 2010 60's Night. Whatever the 60's meant to you, Beatles, Flower Power come and dance the night away.

July 9th 2010 Schools Dance Performance (12:00 noon - 1:30pm). We will be celebrating dance with performances from groups using the Y.M.C.A. and local schools.

Friday 10th September 2010 (10:30am – 12:30pm) - President’s Coffee Morning. As part of our Centenary celebrations, why not take this opportunity to come along, meet the staff and other friends of the Y.M.C.A. You may also wish to view our extensive photographic archive in order to rekindle old memories.

Friday 17th September 2010 (14:00pm – 16:00pm) – Football re-union afternoon tea

Friday 24th September 2010 (10:30am – 12:30pm) – Coffee morning featuring GTFM, McMillan Cancer Charity and YMCA
