The History of the Pontypridd Y.M.C.A.

The Y.M.C.A. movement in Pontypridd began above a small local shop located in Taff Street in 1898, supported by local businessmen and prominent individuals within the town. Funding for the building came from local contributions, and opened in 1910. For almost 100 years the Y.M.C.A. has provided communitites around Pontypridd with a place to meet, and take part in fun activities, which is still true to this day.

We have numerous historical papers relating to past activities. If you are interested in the history of the Y.M.C.A. you are welcome to visit and browse through our archive. If you have any information or memorabilia which you think may be of interest to us please don't hesitate to contact us or just drop in.
